Meaningful Moment
The flight out of Rochester was non-eventful. It was nice that Carlos and Jamie could join Deb and I to see us off.
Upon arrival in Washington, I checked my Airbnb app only to discover I had no reservation for the room in Madrid. I was unpleasantly surprised, because I thought I had made it. It seems quite obvious that although I had communicated with the host, I never completed the booking process.
However I did find another place that should meet our needs. Our biggest desire was to be able to check in early because we are arriving in Madrid at 8:30 in the morning, and absolutely did not want to wait until the usual 3:00 p.m. to check in. Heard back from the host that we can check in at 11:30.
According to the pilot, there are thunderstorms that have backed up a lot of the traffic patterns, so we should be prepared to sit on the taxiway waiting for clearance to take off. I suppose I could consider that relatively inconsequential since we could have arrived in Madrid with no place to sleep.
...
Have now arrived in Madrid. Was going to take the metro from the airport, but the lady at the information desk told us about a bus that goes from the airport to Puerto del Sol with only two stops. So that's what we did.
Really convenient.
